Woof!

I was reading Motor Trend at the dentist today and saw a picture of the Mazda Furai concept car. That's a strange name for a car but it makes perfect sense when you know that the Japanese word "Furai" is pronouced just like the American word "Furry".

Here's the car which has some weird wrinkles on it....

Just like this Sharpei!

There must be a lot of dog lovers at Mazda.

I also noticed that the paint is not very shiny, they should try this:

Congratulations Carl!

Big congratulations to Carl Seidel, who was named Team Mentoring Coach of the Month over in the Logistics department. Those new glasses make you look pretty smart Carl, too bad about the tie though!

Clubbin'

I got my new clubs on Friday, just in time for our monthly Team Logic match rounds. My department came in 2nd overall and 3rd on the day. Way to go guys!

These bad boys are just what the doctor ordered, especially the oversized 10-degree forged Beta titanium driver and #3 fairway wood. I think they were designed by aliens, or made from flying saucer parts, anyway they look great and play pretty well (just like me, ha ha)

New Wheels

Let's talk about cars. I've been thinking about getting a new car ever since the promotion. When I was in Portland last month working the Dunbar account (hey Carl still waiting for your fax) I rented a Ford Escape and was really impressed. I've always liked Ford cars and lately they have really been making great stuff.

Here's a little secret about choosing good cars: always buy a model that you can find at a rental car place. I figured this out about 10 years ago: rental car companies ALWAYS have the best cars, because why would people traveling on business or on a vacation pay for a car that is no good? It's just "logical"!

Here's the Escape I am thinking about buying. Doesn't it look great? Probably my favorite part of this car is the air scoop on the side. When cars make a lot of power the engine gets really hot so they need a scoop to stay cool. If you see a car with a scoop it means that it is really fast and powerful like this Escape. Ive' been looking around for other cars with scoops but this is the only one I can find! It's totally unique.

We did a panel with one of the managing partners at the Ford dealership downtown last year so I may be able to get a discount.

Moving on Up!

Good news! Effective on the 30th, I am being promoted from Senior Analyst to Assistant Project Facilitator of the Green Team!

Our Green Team has a lot of new directions on the radar as you might know already so it's an exciting time to make the switch.

Joe Kracek will be moving over into my old position - good luck Joe, you're gonna need it especially with those two rascals Mark and Roger in the mix. Just kidding guys! Just keep an eye on your mousepad...

Brass Tacks

Let's get serious for just a moment: what can Corporate Logic do for you?

Well, I think this passage from our most recent presentation to the FSP board will be one of our most influential touchstones through 2009:

"Discuss the most important tools and circumstances for your group. Whenever possible, either make exclusions on task measurable and relevant, or ascertain that you have maintained the core competencies required for a positive outcome with the people responsible for accomplishing the results."

Hobbies and Interests

They say that all work and no play makes you a doll boy - no dolls for me thanks!

These are some of my hobbies when I am not in Corporate Logic mode:

My 1986 Nissan XZ Turbo! What a great car. I bought this new right about the time Back to the Future came out, and I think it looks a lot like the Corvette time machine that they had.

This is a "luxury sport car" with all the features and a comfortable ride too!

Who loves Golf? We do! I started playing when I joined the Logic team in 2004. These guys are animals! Here we are playing in a local charity tournament (that's me in the gray shirt and shorts). We raised over $150 for the Masonic Depth Perception Facilitating Foundation of North Americans (MDPFFONA) and honestly we could use a little more "depth perception" of our own out on the tees! Just between you and me, we do our best work at the 19th Hole.

When I am not going "back in time" or working on my "back swing" I like to collect watches. This one was a gift from my uncle Brad in 1975 and it is one of my favorites. He got it while he was deployed overseas and almost lost it when his tender got caught in a storm. Now it's my Good Luck charm for those big presentations. Gotta be on time to seal the deal!
